THINGS THAT MAKE ME PROUD.

Last December I turned 16...and then finally got my license in April. Now I no longer have to look at these keys longingly. (Can you guess which pair are mine?)

I have been playing the violin since 7th grade (4 years).

I finished this book in one day.

I picked all of these cherries, and pitted all of them too.

I have been going to Park City every winter since I moved to Utah. (2002) This year will be my 9th year skiing/snowboarding at Park City.

I have been volunteering at the AF Hospital since last summer

My dad was born and raised in Mexico.

Some of the cherries we picked didn't make it to the bottles...
My dad is a retired Physician.
He was the director of the ER in 29 Palms, CA
After being retired for 10 years, my dad decided to go full time back to college.

Portraits

So today I went mountain biking for the first time..ever. Here is an interpretation of how I felt before going. I would post a picture of how I felt after, but it wasn't as pretty.
Here is one of my best friends, Tyler.

Loving life and all its colors.

At my friend house, I found these three differing shades of orange.

I found this fire hydrant hidden next to a field...what luck.
These are my analogous pictures. They are some music books we have in my house. I didn't realize that we had such colorful music...

I had more fun with this assignment than I have with any of the assignments so far. And overall, I am very pleased with my pictures.

Sorry to disappoint you Michael Jackson. (Or in other words, High-key Low-key)

You might ask if my camera is physically capable of recognizing the true color of black...well I have been asking the same thing since I bought it. And I'm going to have to get back to you on that one. Because for now, I have no idea. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, just look at the picture above. This is what my camera thought the correct exposure was. And as you can see, it wasn't.
This is black. Or at least more close to black than my camera thought.
Can anyone other than my family tell what this picture is? Maybe it's a little dark, but that's just fine with me and the violin case.
Again my camera thought that this was the right exposure, but surprise! Oh wait. It still is wrong.
I really like this picture because the white base is a little soft in the background.
This might be a little over-exposed, but that is just fine with me.

So. Today we learned that Michael Jackson was wrong. It DOES matter if you're black or white. At least it matters if the camera/picture is black or white....Sorry to disappoint MJ.

Playing with Numbers....

I had a lot of fun doing this assignment. It would have been even more enjoyable if I didn't have five school finals looming in the near future...
This is my sister...who also just happened to be 21.

There are 14 cds here. Just in case you didn't want to count.

Maybe we should be putting these tomato boxes to good use. Dad....?

Bracketing Practice

You might not be able to tell, but this is a picture of that same car below, except now, it's actually black. Yeah. I'm kinda a good photographer now.
I don't know about you, but this does not look black to me. It looks more like....blue.
This is what "white looks like"
This is what my camera thought the car should look like.

Seriously? Of course. Typical Wedding Photo. Beach wedding, couple holding hands as the bride sticks the bouquet in the camera, beautifully cliche.
